In accordance with the Paragraph 56.5 of the Cabinet Regulation No. 360 “Epidemiological Safety Measures to the Containment of the Spread of COVID-19 Infection” (hereinafter – the Regulation) as of 9 June 2020, a person who has resided in the country of the European Union or the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation or the United Kingdom during the last 14 days and can prove that fifteen days after the completion of a full course of vaccination with vaccines registered with the European Medicines Agency or an equivalent regulator or recognized by the World Health Organization in accordance with the instructions for use of the vaccine, may be disregarded from self-isolation after entry into Latvia from the above countries.

The 10-day self-isolation requirement still applies to persons coming from countries other than the European Union or the European Economic Area, the Swiss Confederation or the United Kingdom (Paragraph 56.4 of the Regulation).

Until the introduction of the electronic vaccination certificate in Latvia, medical institutions that have an agreement with the National Health Service on vaccination against Covid-19 infection will issue a certificate of vaccination against Covid-19 in Latvian and English languages free of charge at the request of the vaccinated person (Paragraph 62.7 9. of the Regulation).

It is worth noting that as of 18 May 2021 full vaccination does not exempt a person from the requirement to obtain a negative coronavirus test result before entering Latvia (Paragraph 35.3 1. of the Regulation). The inspection must be carried out 72 hours before arrival. Accepted test type: molecular (PCR).
